FAQ

No. To be considered for Affordable Housing at Anura, you’ll need to be an Australian citizen and a resident of Queensland.

Sorry, already owning a home rules you out. To be eligible, household members must not own or part-own a property.

At least one member of your household must be employed at the start of your lease.

Yes. Affordable Housing is designed to support renters who need to live or work in and around Newstead. You’ll need to show that living at Anura will help you be closer to work, or get access to employment in your chosen industry.

The total liquid assets of your household cannot exceed 25% of the Department of Human Services limits for non-homeowners to gain the full pension.

Yes. When you first enter into your tenancy agreement, the total taxable income of your household must be less than 90% of the average earnings in Queensland (calculated as an annual average total of the state’s weekly earnings). This total has an extra allowance of 30% for every additional household member.

After you move in, your household allowance will increase, but still must stay below the annualised average total weekly earnings for the state. Your 30% increase for each additional household member will remain in place.

Up to date average earnings figures are published by the ABS every May.

You’ll need to provide us with a signed declaration of information. This will let us assess your eligibility when you apply, and will be updated to review your ongoing need for assistance.
